Angie Yazzie

Angie Yazzie is a member of the Taos Pueblo. She was born in Taos and has lived there all of her life. Angie was introduced to traditional Taos pottery at the age of 7 or 8 by both her mother and grandmother, Isabel Archuleta; yet she is largely self-taught. Her pots are constructed of local clay, rich in mica. Her mother, Mary Archuleta, is of Taos Pueblo and her father, Nick Yazzie, was a Navajo from Ganado, Arizona. Angie loves to work with the micaceous clay found in the sacred places where she digs her clay on Taos Pueblo.
Angie has invited her mother Mary and her son, Eric Marcus to show with her during this event as Three Generations of Potters.
