Welcome Summer Interns

The Millicent Rogers Museum proudly introduces the two newest members of our staff for the Summer of 2011. Andrew Quick and Emily Jespersen are student-interns who will be supporting the museum for our summer season. They will be aiding the museum with events such as the Turquoise Ball, preparing gallery exhibits, learning about the history of Northern New Mexico—its fashion and design, as well as providing general services to the staff to improve the experience for the patrons of the Millicent Rogers Museum.

Andrew Quick is a junior attending the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. He is studying technical-professional writing and linguistics. He will be supporting Faith Hensley in public relations, and Kathleen Michaels in records management. Andrew graduated from Taos High School in 2009, and has been deeply involved with the Taos art community since 2008. He is a High School State Champion poet, outdoor enthusiast, and editor for the UNM Honors Magazine, Scribendi.

Emily Jespersen is a student at Iowa State University. She will be earning two undergraduate degrees: Baccalaureate of Science – Apparel, Merchandising & Design; and a Baccalaureate of Art – Speech Communication. Emily will be supporting Carmela Quinto, the museum Curator and Front Desk Coordinator. Emily is working with the Museum staff to broaden her understanding of fashion and design through the collections and works of Millicent Rogers. Emily loves the welcoming and diverse culture of Taos, and spends her free time reading, cooking, and practicing yoga.
